Âme DJ

Two friends meet outside Karlsruhe, in Schwarzwald. One is an explorer of galaxies far away, the other a composer of fragments. Together they create a joie de vivre, arranging and deconstructing their creations, their own formations.

Beneath their feet, a stone world rests against the living world, touching rivers, mountains, forest floors and the first foot trails between Schwarzwald, Vosges Mountains and Naturpark Pfälzerwald.

This stone world is made of smooth subterranean rock that swirls and folds. Altered from its original igneous by pressures a hundred thousand years strong. What was once sharp is now smooth. Lines become curves, reversals. If you were to try read its origin, its strata, you would not tell which direction the past flowed or the future began.

Âme's singularity is derived from their strata – a catacomb of Frank Wiedemann and Kristian Beyer's symbiotic relationship. The inception of their 15+ year collaboration impossible to pinpoint, woven among chance meetings, seminal introductions and unbridled curiosity. They are not so much defined from their past but by what is to come.

In partnership, their dual counterparts are identified as part of their artistry: Frank the composer or creative engine behind the live act and Kristian, the explorer as DJ – each of his marathon sets a voyage and vision. Together their output is a synthesis in melodies, rhythms and arrangements that only an honest, working kinship can cultivate.

Their label Innervisions is metamorphic of their expression and powers combined. Kristian's quest for the new and Frank's dense production turned tangible in 2005. From influence to influential, shared interests became a label, to publishing house, to the mythological Lost in A Moment parties, to a shop and distribution company in Berlin under Muting the Noise and booking agency, Temporary Secretary.

Like atoms repeating an ancient structure, each entity shares Frank and Kristian's defining characteristics. Each new foray into the industry is beleaguered by the same attention to detail and continual exploration of the music universe in that it is also revered.

Intentionally, every venture knows no bounds. Their musical quest existing as long as the opportunity for new work does. Every composition, output and live performance a culmination of experience and experiments, infinite.

Stavroz

Hailing from the land of compromise in the heart of Europe, the four friends of Stavroz found each other in the east of Flanders. In its inception, IJsbrand De Wilde & Gert Beazar focussed mainly on playing DJ sets and creating music in which they loved colliding worlds.

Only a few years later they hooked up with Maxim Helincks & Pieter De Meester to expand their DJ activities to a performing band and continued to try and find an unbeaten path in electronic music. This culminated in their delicately acoustic, organic and cinematic approach to electronic music. As a result they were awarded second place for "best producer" and "best breakthrough artist" in national awards for Belgium's electronic scene.

In the years that followed, the four kept expanding their catalogue and continued to develop that uniquely own style. Their EP "The Ginning" resulted in an early breakthrough for the four-some. It reached gold status in France, dominated the nr. 1 spot on the Hype Machine and was chosen as vinyl of the month by Germany's "Faze Magazine", mainly thanks to the B-side "The Finishing" starring a compelling solo on the tenor saxophone.

In order to keep freedom in their music production and to be able to support other artists with a likeminded vision, they started their record label "Moodfamily". It was on this label that their second hit single "Gold Town" was released. It kept the nr. 1 spot on Beatport's "Electronic Top 100" for several months and was picked up by Rockstar Entertainment and added to GTA 5's (already) excellent in-game music.

Although Stavroz is now 11 years old, many of their songs are still relevant and are quietly nudging towards timelessness. Over half million monthly listeners and over 100.000 followers on Spotify alone will concur and 100 million plays across the major streaming platforms speaks volumes.

Their intimate live performance grew more dramatic and their unique dj sets spread like wildfire as they started frequenting many international stages. Coachella (US), Fusion Festival (DE), Wonderfruit (THA), Pukkelpop (BE), Strawberry Fields (AUS), Tropico (MX), Three Points Festival (FL, USA) all fell victim to Stavroz's unusual dramatic, melancholic yet determined approach. The band was quickly invited by the acclaimed Youtube channel "Cercle" to perform a streaming concert at Fort Saint-Eynard in France where once again, they managed to create a wholesome, comforting soundtrack for a place, which no words can describe.

Daniele Baldelli

Daniele Baldelli began as a dee-jay in 1969 at the Tana Club in Cattolica (RN, Adriatic coast, Italy) and later joined the Tabù Club in 1970.

That time there weren't any mixers, earphones and displays! The job of the disc jockey was simply to raise and lower of the two record players available, not having care of the eventual silence gap between two records.

The first records Daniele Baldelli played were of course 45 rpm singles: Ann Peebles, Arthur Conley, Rufus Thomas, Desmond Dekker, Wilson Pickett, Johnny Taylor, James Brown, Booker T., Edwin Starr and Etta James… but also: Stooges, Jericho Jones, Steppenwolf, Atomic Rooster, Steely Dan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Status Quo, Slade, Gary Glitter…

Having not any model to emulate (he considers himself maybe the eldest dee-jay in Italy) Daniele Baldelli invented by his own his work at the consolle, practically a self-made dee-jay, simply following his passion for music, experimenting new technologies and making use, since the beginning, of the first electronic drums, keyboards, synthesizers and one of the first samplers that had only four seconds of memory!

He feels lucky about having been a dee-jay since 1969 till now. This gave him the opportunity to live, in first person, the history of music and discoteque from its dawning to present. And this also let him collect more than 70.000 vinyl records!!!

Always alternative and futuristic, he worked at hundreds of club consolles.

In 1979 in Italy the Cosmic was opened, a club in which Daniele Baldelli started a musical trend that would deeply mark the Italian underground music movement. Everything developed from 1979 to 1984, and that genre was called "Afro". Of course the term was, and it is, erroneous because what was playing at the Cosmic was a mix of electronic, reggae, brazil, jazz, ethno, funk, new-wave and afro-beat!!!

Daniele Baldelli probably interpreted africanism when he played Ravel's Bolero superimposing it on a track by Africa Djolè, or an experimental track by Steve Reich on which he mixed a Malinke song from the New Guinea, mixing the T-Connection with Moebius & Roedelius, discovering in the Itzito album an hypnotic-tribal track by Cat Stevens, extracting Africa from the Depeche Mode playing them at 33 rpm, or turning to music a reggae voice played at 45 rpm.

By mixing a dozen of African songs on one pattern of electronic drums or playing together a Brazilian batucada with the Kraftwerk, using the electronic effects of a synthesizer in order to superimpose them on some songs by Miriam Makeba, Jorge Ben, or Fela Kuti. And more mixing up oriental melodies by Ofra Haza or Sheila Chandra with the electronic sound of the German label Sky Records.

Actually Daniele Baldelli sets his work up to two directions: one towards funk at 360 degrees (soul, funky 70, future funk, funk & jazz) making use of live players as well (sax, trombone, bass, keyboard); the other one towards only "cosmic sound": electronic, ethnic, afro-tribal, jazz, reggae, fusion… A lot of productions and many Remixes you can find on Sound Cloud and Youtube.

Soul Therapy

Since 2005, Soul Therapy has been offered annually in Rishikesh and has traveled across Italy, India, Canada, the United States, and Japan, finding its place in festivals, yoga centers, and "hybrid" contexts between yoga and clubbing.

In 2018, it was chosen as the opening experience for 350 IKEA executives during their annual meeting at MAST in Bologna. In 2022, as part of YAMM Festival, Soul Therapy featured DJs Kris & Kris (formerly MTV, Radio Capital) in the console.

What it is:

Soul Therapy is neither a discipline nor a yoga class, but a holistic pastime: a transformative practice that combines breathwork and blindfolded dance, leading to a pleasurable state of ecstatic trance.

The motto is: "In Prana Veritas."

While in ancient Greek culture "In vino veritas" referred to the state of inebriation that loosens inhibitions, Soul Therapy offers another path: through Prana — the vital energy cultivated through the breath — and dance, we can drop masks and rigidity, entering a state of spontaneity, joy, and freedom similar to Dionysian ecstasy, but without substances. By blindfolding the eyes, external visual references fade: the awareness of breath and music is amplified, habitual identity softens, and a playful, innocent space emerges, linking play, childlike wonder, and yoga practice.
